Dear Families,
This term was all about dusting off the summer holidays and easing back into the rhythm of learning. Students embraced a return to routines with curiosity and energy, spending meaningful time learning outdoors and engaging with Indigenous perspectives that deepen their understanding of place. We are especially proud of the growth we’re seeing in literacy—particularly among our younger learners—whose confidence and skills continue to blossom.
As we head into the holiday break, we encourage families to continue nurturing learning in simple, meaningful ways. Find opportunities to weave math into everyday experiences—measuring ingredients while baking, estimating travel time, counting change, or noticing patterns outdoors. These real-life connections help students see the value of their skills beyond the classroom. We also invite you to spend time reading together and sharing stories; these moments not only strengthen literacy, but also build connection and joy. Even small, consistent experiences can make a big difference in keeping learning alive over the holidays.
Learning Updates will be published later this week. Please ensure you are able to log in to your MyEducation BC (MyEd) parent account so you can access your child’s report when it becomes available. If you need any assistance, please don’t hesitate to call the school office—we are happy to help.
