100 Mile Elementary
Winter Fun
Our Wolf Pack has been embracing the snow and fresh winter air! As students spend time playing outside, they may get a little wet throughout the day. Please consider sending extra clothes, especially socks and mittens, so students can stay warm and comfortable.
Sledding at School
A friendly reminder that hard sleds—including GT Racers, plastic toboggans, and similar items—are not permitted at school. These sleds often result in a higher number of injuries.
Students are welcome to bring foam sleds or crazy carpets instead. If your child rides the bus, please check with the bus driver to ensure their sled type is allowed on board.
School Sports
Upcoming Volleyball Tournaments
Our Grade 6 and 7 volleyball teams have been practicing hard since September, showing tremendous growth, perseverance, and teamwork. A huge thank you to Ms. Crompton and Mr. Plante for their time and dedication. We look forward to cheering on our athletes at the upcoming tournaments!
Basketball Begins in January
Basketball season is right around the corner! Practices and team information will be shared with students when we return from the winter break.
Christmas Concert
We are excited to welcome families to our 2024 Christmas Concerts:
- Intermediate Concert – December 17
- Primary Concert – December 18
Each performance will run for approximately one hour. To support all students and classes, we kindly ask families to stay for the duration of each concert. Thank you for helping us create a respectful and celebratory experience for all performers.
Warhammer Alliance
Our community was recently highlighted for something truly heartwarming happening at 100 Mile Elementary. This fall, a group of Grade 3/4 students have been exploring the imaginative world of tabletop war-gaming, thanks to the time, care, and passion of Mr. Tristan Feissli, who generously volunteers to guide them.
What’s been most lovely to witness is how this experience brings students together—encouraging creativity, strategic thinking, cooperation, and a sense of shared storytelling. For many of them, it’s a completely new hobby, one that stretches their imagination and builds confidence in such a joyful, hands-on way.
We are deeply grateful to Mr. Feissli for giving our students this opportunity. These are often the moments that stay with children—the unexpected experiences, the adults who share their passions, and the feeling of being welcomed into something special. It’s a beautiful reminder of how much community members enrich our school and how the smallest sparks of curiosity can grow into lasting memories.
Literacy Wins!
We’re proud to share some exciting news from our school community: our Grade 4 literacy results are exceeding district averages by an impressive 18%. This is a meaningful achievement and a reflection of the hard work happening every day—students building skills and confidence, teachers providing thoughtful instruction, and families supporting learning at home.
Growth like this doesn’t happen overnight. It comes from consistent effort, joyful reading experiences, and a school culture that believes every child is a capable, developing reader.
Fire Safety Contest
Ms Speers' grade 2/3 class were winners of the Fire Safety Week Colouring contest. Thank you to the 100 Mile House Fire Department for spending time at our school that week, sharing information, giving a tour of the truck, and connecting with our Pack.
Gratitude for Our Community
As we move into this season of generosity and reflection, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire École 100 Mile Elementary community. Each day, we see the strength of our Wolf Pack in the small, meaningful ways families, staff, and students care for one another—whether it’s volunteering time, offering a kind word, supporting school events, or simply ensuring children arrive ready to learn and play.
Your partnership makes our school a place where every child feels a sense of belonging and safety. Thank you for cheering on our learners, trusting us with their growth, and embracing the joys and challenges of the year alongside us. We are truly fortunate to learn and work in such a supportive, connected community.
Wishing all our families warmth, rest, and moments of joy as we head into the winter break. Our Wolf Pack is stronger because of you.
